My work constantly embraces change and variety.
My work, which looks like a portrait at a glance, is a drawing of young lady as a motif. In this painting, I used a style from a still life painting called “Vanitas," which expresses the vanity of life for those who lived in medieval Europe. In order to put it in popular items, I substituted items from those days with present-day items. In a period when a woman is susceptible, I wanted to describe the light of hope along with fear and precariousness.
In a time when “contemporary art ” is in a dizzying change, I want to influence the west as “Ukiyo-e” once did.
